The Iranian Legal Community’s Announcement of Readiness to Take Part in the Lawsuit Against the Zionist Regime in the Hague Court
In this troubled time full of war and devoid of peace, when the mournful and bloodied faces of Gaza children are broadcast to the world, South African lawyers, who have experienced the long history of Apartheid violence and discrimination with all their heart and soul, are now bent and determined to prove the breach of humanitarian rights, extensive genocide and crime against the humanity committed by the Zionist Regime, in an attempt to implore for justice and on behalf of the awakened consciences of free-minded lawyers believing in human rights.

Mechanisms for defending human rights and combating genocide and violation of humanitarian rights are a means to protect the right to exist of the people in this unequal world, and now voices are being heard from the Hague, which is promising.

Of course, the people of the United Nations have always stood on the right side of the history in protecting human dignity and basic human rights, and these are the powers that deal and play with human rights and humanitarian rights based on political interests.

With all its shortcomings, the international system for protecting the human rights has now been subjected to a conscientious judgment. 22 thousand Palestinians have been killed, and whatever prohibited by the concept and clear meaning of the Convention on Prevention and Punishment of Genocide (ratified in 1948) is now demonstrated before the eyes of the world as part of the Israel’s record during these dark days. A record that is an embodiment of genocide and crime against the humanity and a clear example of the actions which are taken “with the intention of destroying, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group.”

We believe that genocide committed by Israel in Gaza is illustrated and documented, and the order by the International Court of Justice to stop the killings is an appropriate legal action.

During these decisive days, the Union of Bar Association of Iran, while declaring solidarity with independent and justice seeking lawyers of South Africa, hereby announces full readiness of Iran’s human and humanitarian rights defending legal community for documenting this litigation.

We hope that, by issuance of the order to stop these crimes and enforcement of cease fire, we do not witness the frequent and repeated pains reflected in the news of these days, and the process of proceedings in the International Court of Justice, be free from political pressures and only go towards the justice and defending the oppressed and to have an equal and free world that relies on peace and brotherhood and respect for the human rights, a world in which the life of each and every person is respected regardless of where they live on this planet and in which religion they believe and the humanity is not slaughtered with the sword of politics.
